I'm an Art Design student who's super into the creative industry, it's where I can truly express myself, turning my imagination and how I see the other side of the world into art.
Through this portfolio, I'm excited to share some of my favorite artworks that I've been working on over time. Each piece represents a unique journey, where I got to explore and experiment with different ideas, techniques, and emotions. It's a reflection of my growth as an artist and how my imagination comes to life through design.
For my photography assignment, I titled the photo 'Ibu Petani Jeruk Nipis,' featuring Ibu Rifda, a 79-year-old former teacher who transitioned to farming after retiring. She now spends her time cultivating a variety of crops, such as rice, cocoa, mangosteen, cucumbers, and limes. On the day this photo was taken, she was in the midst of harvesting her lime crop, a task that brought her a great sense of joy and fulfillment. The image captures the satisfaction and happiness she feels from the fruits of her hard work and dedication to her land.
This photo shows a rice farmer or "Petani Sawah" at Payakumbuh Situjuah working under the hot sun. It made me realize that even on tough, hot days, the joy of providing food for others, like rice, makes all the hard work worth it. It's fulfilling to know our efforts help others.
My friends and I have worked on a project to recreate the 'Beringer Advertise Recreation of The Return of Bapteme,' inspired by Louis Le Nain's painting 'The Return of the Baptism.
"Sakti Gonjong Ungu" is the name of my 3D art project for my test. I had to make a model with a fantasy theme, and I wanted to add a culture touch. In my mind, the traditional Minangnese hat for girls who are not married looks a bit like a witch's hat! I thought, "Why not mix the two?" That's how I thought of a Minangkabau witch. This is my cultural vision come to life. I'm happy to have combined the pointed shape of the Minang "gonjong" roof with the mysterious, magical feel of a witch, all in a purple theme.
I make this 3D artwork by following a video tutorial from my 3D course. In the course, I learned step by step how to model different elements like a 3D house, trees, roads, and even a car. It was much easier because I could follow the video tutorial, which made the whole process more straightforward.
In this aesthetic project, me and my friends make a mini movie about Alya, a girl who moves from a small hometown to a fast-paced city and quietly struggles with emotional loneliness. She feels unseen, overwhelmed, and unsure how to connect in her new university life. Psychology shows loneliness comes from unmet emotional expectations, especially during big transitions. Slowly, Alya learns independence—cooking, managing money, navigating the city—and discovers that being alone can also mean growing stronger.
The movie Karma centers around Annisa Dwi, a high school student who was relentlessly bullied by her peers. However, 10 years later, Annisa becomes a highly successful and wealthy individual, while those who bullied her struggle in life and fail to find success. In a twist of fate, the bullies come back to Annisa, begging for her financial help. Despite their pleas, Annisa refuses to help them, still unable to forgive them for the pain and humiliation they caused her during her high school years.
For my final exam illustration design, I created a mural with the theme of 'Harmony,' inspired by Mary Blair's 'It's a Small World,' which unites different cultures. I adapted this to Indonesian culture, highlighting its diversity. In the story, a Minang person is worried about rowing his boat, fearing failure, but other cultures encourage him, reflecting the supportive and humble spirit of Indonesians. The message is that with support from others, fears can be overcome, and challenges can be faced together.
In this artwork, I explore my evolving art style by illustrating one of my long-time daydreams: roller-skating or walking through a peaceful forest and befriending animals along the way. Soft colors and flowing lines capture the calm, adventurous mood I often imagine. This piece reflects my love for nature, escapism, and building little imaginary worlds. Through it, I show how art helps me discover and embrace the wild, whimsical parts of myself.
